Big Night Out Performance (Invite only)

We are super excited to have been invited by Tom Elliott to perform at this years Big Local Night Out at the Tacchi- Morris Arts Centre in Taunton on the 19th July.

For the performance we will be bringing two 5 minute routines which is a huge amount of stage time in a professional setting for our dancers. As our annual showcase is postponed until later in the year this is also a great chance for dancers to get on stage in the summer.

The Big Local Night Out brings you the best of variety talent! Hosted by Comedy Magician, Tom Elliott, this unique series of events welcomes top guest performers alongside the best of our local talent for an electrifying variety style event. Comedy, magic, music, dance – all packed in to this delightful, family friendly show.

Your Host, Tom Elliott is one of the UK’s most exciting comedy magicians, touring throughout the year, whilst also being founder of ‘The Big Local Night Out’. Once described by Miranda Hart as ‘Such Fun’, Tom has appeared on BBC TV & Radio, had a feature piece in the Times Newspaper and received significant crowdfunding support for his initiatives. He’s also welcomed the likes of Milton Jones & Rosemary Conley CBE onto his wellbeing themed podcast.

Amongst the acts joining Tom here in Taunton on 19th July is singer, actor and talented musician, Charlie Green. Charlie Green was catapulted into the limelight at just ten year’s old, when he wowed the Britain’s Got Talent judges with his rendition of the Sinatra classic, Summer Wind in 2008. Since then Charlie has toured in numerous countries, including Italy, China, Japan, The Philippines and Canada.

We appreciate that many of our dancers have GCSEs and A levels coming up but hope this will give them something fun to focus on for after their exams. With that in mind we have scheduled two rehearsal days in the May Half term. We would love it if dancers could attend both days if possible as this is when the majority of the content and arrangement will be done. After that there will be a couple of run throughs to keep them fresh on Saturdays. Where possible we can work some material in class time but as there is a mix of dancers involved this may not always be possible.

Day Rehersals: 28th & 29th May 10-3pm We will be working on two routines so if your dancer wants to take part but can not attend both days they can just choose one but will only be in that one routine.

Additional rehersals: 29th June & 6th July 2-30-4.30pm, 12th July 5.30-7pm 

Show day. On show day dancers will need to arrive at the Tacchi-Morris Arts centre in Taunton by 5pm. They will need food and hair/ make up with them as it will be a quick tech run, and warm up before the performance starts at 7.30pm. As this is a Friday and some students may still be at school we can provide a letter to their school if they need to leave a little early in order to arrive intime as this is a professional experience. We may be able to offer a couple of seats in car shares where possible.

We would then love to take these dances to Chance to Dance at the Northcott theatre on the 23rd November if the dancers would like to perform them again.
